2 Ways to Enter BIOS: Asus, HP and more

You will need to enter the BIOS in case you want to change the boot settings, reset your system clock, Fn key functionality or touchpad settings on your laptop.

Keep in mind that entering the BIOS requires a reboot of your PC. So save all your work and close other programs.

Enter BIOS Using Windows 10 Advanced Startup

  1. Open Windows Settings

You can open Windows Settings by right-clicking on the Start icon in the bottom left corner of your screen and selecting Settings. If you need to enter Settings using only the keyboard, just press Windows + R, type ms-settings: and press Enter.

  1. Navigate to Recovery

In the Windows settings, first select Update & Security and then click on the Recovery tab in the left menu.

  1. Click Restart Now under Advanced startup
  2. In the menu that appears, select Troubleshoot
  3. Click UEFI Firmware Settings and than Restart

Enter BIOS Using the Setup Key

  1. Restart your PC
  2. Press the Setup key Repeatedly

After restarting your computer, press the Setup key repeatedly until the BIOS screen appears on your monitor.

Your Setup key may vary depending on your computer manufacturer or motherboard model.

Here’s a list of some of the most common setup keys by manufacturer:

  • Acer: F2 or DEL
  • ASUS: F2 or Del
  • Dell: F2 or F12
  • HP: ESC or F10
  • Lenovo: F2 or Fn + F2
